Dear Helen - The one where i couldn't think of a snappy title

Hola

As you can tell from the title, i really couldn't think of a good name for this Dear Helen as i plan it to contain things that do not really connect together (Beacause thats how i roll ).

I have finally this week, after 2 weeks, managed to perfect my lemon cake and some delicious cookies, i would insert a picture but they all got eaten before i had a chance :( lol. This means by the time of my BBQ i should have some cakes in which everyone will not be able to refuse.

The second thing to happen this week is that me a Freddie have become friends and he no longer jumps whilst i try pulling off. I spose it does make things alot easier when your pulling off in 1st gear and not 3rd. I also have a new car air freshner thats smells freaking awesome :).

CONGRRAULATIONS ON PASSING UNI :D ... we finally did it, congratulations on passing, i think we should all be very proud of ourselves :)

I am going to wrap it up there, as i need to sort my playlist out for the bus tomorrow :) .. Adios!

Doctor Who - My top 10 Episodes (New Doctor who)

One of my favourite TV shows since i first watched it as a child, is Doctor Who. This had led to conversations with my friends to consist entirely of Doctor Who quotes. So i have ranked 10 episodes that i constantly watch because i think they are awesome.

10- Bad Wolf (2005) - because of some fantastic lines and robot Ann Robinson
9- Eleventh hour (2010) - first Matt Smith episode
8- The runaway bride (2006) - first Catherine Tate episode
7- The lodger (2010) - James Corden 'football thats the one with sticks right'
6-The curse of the black spot (2011) - Pirates :)
5-The Snowmen (2012) - Victorian governess and snow :)
4- Asylum of the Daleks(2012) - Super good episode
3- Robot of Sherwood (2014) - ' i am the doctor and this is my spoon, En Garde'
2- Unicorn and the wasp (2008) - ' tell me there's no noddy!'
1- Victory of the Daleks (2010) - ' alright its a jammy dodger, but i was promised tea'

So this is my list, and i challenge Helen and everyone who reads this to compile their own list.

Dear Helen - The one with a theory

Hola amigo

We definitely need to meet up soon, its a case of Northampton or Leicester :P

As we both know i am not a major Harry Potter fan, but i am pretty impressed with the marathon that you decided to do and i think the order was unique. I think the next thing you need to do is read the books in the same order ( i think that would be slightly weirder lol).

I am intrigued to see this 'frog clock' because as we all know frogs are awesome (especially Disney frogs). On that note i think it is time for a Disney store trip aswell i need another mug to add to my collection and maybe a Disney teddy.

I have had an awesome week so far as i have been driving my car (woop woop), and Freddie has enjoyed getting out on the open road (country roads ) but hey Tom does always say that i live in the sticks and that im a villager. I like that in the majority of our Dear Helen and Sarah series Tom is mentioned, i think he should feel honored.

You are right i reckon that Mcfly/Busted songs sound more awesome once you have seen them live, me theory for this is because every time you listen to a song, for example Riding on my bike, you tend to associate what happened in their live performance with the song therefore reliving the awesomeness of the concert henceforth making the songs sound even better, (wow my blog post got a little bit educational i think i need to do something about this).

CAN I MARRY A MARSHMELLOW

Cant believe we are nearly at graduation :o , its kinda scary but exciting at the same time if you get what i mean.

I think i am going to leave it there now as the sun is shining and the washing machine has finished lol, plus i have run out of things to say.. i shall depart with the traditional videos and pictures below .. Adios amigo :)

Dear Helen - The day of ups and downs

Heelloooo

I thought i would take some time whilst watching the Tennis (Murray is through to the last 8 :D) to reply to your Dear Sarah . It made me laugh when i read it yesterday, i mean you + coffee, its a win win combination.

So today i had my driving test. Unfortunately i failed again, but hey part from that it was a pretty clean sheet. However the exciting news is ... wait for itt....... i .. am ... getting ................ (drum roll) a car :). I am super excited as it means that when you come over to Leicester i can still drive just with a parent in the car.

Quick side note. my parents say when are you coming again, and you are welcome anytime :).

The other up of today is that we have our final exam grades back. I am super happy that i passed both exams and even more that i passed Criminology (as i didnt do much revision but shhhh) . Well done on all the grades you have got back you have done awesome :) i hope i can follow suit with my dissertation :).

I am going to wrap it up now as Tsonga has been taken to the 5th set :o (i want him to win his match). I hope you have had a good day and that your room now looks how you want it too. I shall depart with the traditional pictures and video.

byyeee! :)

Congenital Heart Defect week - Tetralogy of fallot

The post that i have chosen to write this week deviates slightly from the nature of the rest of the blog. However as this awareness week is very personal i have decided to write about it from a personal perspective.

Congenital heart defects are the name given to a range of heart defects that are present at birth, and affects how a heart would work normally. Congenital heart defects amount to be one of the most common type of birth defects within the United Kingdom.

Tetralogy of fallots one congenital heart defect, and is the one which i have. It is usually diagnosed when a child is very young meaning that surgery can be undertaken to help the heart function normally in many cases giving the child a very good life. Tetralogy of fallots where there are four abnormalities with the heart (Tetralogy meaning four). Although four defects are diagnosed only three are always present. It is not clear what causes Tetraology of Fallots but experts suggest that it is associated with chromosome 22.

The four abnormalities are:

  • Pulmonary stenosis: Narrowing of the valve between right ventricle and the pulmonary artery.
  • Ventricle septical defect: A hole between the left and right ventricles.
  • Over-Riding aorta: The entrance to the blood vessel that takes oxygenated blood around the body is next to the ventricle septical defect allow poor oxygenated blood to flow through it.
  • Thick right ventricle: The heart has to work harder to pump blood through the narrowed pulmonary artery causing the muscle to thicken.

Through out the United kingdom there are many different hospital trusts and charitys that support both the individual and the family and friends. One Charity that does considerable work for all children and families who suffer from a heart defect, is Heartlink; which is based in Leicestershire. Established in 1981 its core purpose it to support the parents and family while their child is in hospital right the way through adulthood. Originally it was a great way for parents to meet other parents who then became a support network for people in similar situations. The charity offers support in many different ways including providing rooms for the parents to stay close to the hospital, holidays for the families and annual events (Christmas party). On the child's first admission to hospital they give them a goody bag which includes a special Walter the bear (with its own heartlink t-shirt), a mug, pen, pencil and car sticker.

Thank you for reading this special and different post in honor of CHD awareness week that runs from the 7th February to the 14th February 2015. Feel free to share this and comment if you want to. Until next time ... Live long and prosper.

Dear Helen - First blog of 2015

Hello, welcome to 2015 i know i am a little late but hey better late than never. So we have been back at university for 2 weeks now and i dont know about you but i think the weeks have flown by. I cant believe that we dont have long left which means we are going to have to grow up, which is going to be a strange concept for us to ;).
Its so weird not having our randomness on Friday mornings, it means that i no longer have someone to make me hyper on a Monday and Friday; however it means i get alot of work done (i dont know if thats a good thing lol).
Well im going to end it here as i think i need to go put the kettle on as its my turn to make a cuppa. Cheerio :)

P.S 3 videos are waiting below :)
